How to Open PDF in Firefox on Mac?

Maybe you have always encounter the problem that each time clicking a link in Firefox, obviously, the hyperlink is a PDF file, the PDF is downloaded to your Mac automatically rather than opened in the Firefox? And what's worse, the downloaded PDF is probably not the one you needed?

You need to know that to open PDF in Firefox directly, you will need possess the corresponding Firefox add-on plug-in installed. In this post, we are going to discuss how to use Firefox open PDF on Mac.

Steps on Opening PDF Files with Firefox on Mac

Step 1: Make sure that you have Adobe Reader installed on your Mac. Navigate to the page which has the PDF file you intend to open and then click the link to that file.

Step 2: In the "Opening…" window that appears, click the "Open with" radio button. Check the "Do this automatically for files like this from now on." check box.

Step 3: Click the "OK" button. The PDF file will open in Preview or you may receive an error message. Close whichever one you see.

Step 4: Return to your Firefox browser and click on "Firefox" in the primary menu towards the top of your screen. Click ”Preferences…", Click on the ”Content" icon. In the Select Helper Application window choose "Adobe Reader" as an open PDF files tool.

Now with Firefox, your PDF files will now open with Adobe Reader. From the Adobe Reader application you have the option to print or save the file to your local Mac computer.
